Shepparton Art Gallery, Shepparton, Victoria
The Sidney Myer Fund International Ceramic Award is held in association with La Trobe University and this year's international judge was Ah Xian. A total of 186 entries were received and 53 shortlisted for the exhibition.
29 February - 11 April, 2008   Stanthorpe Art Prize
Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery, Stanthorpe, Queensland
The Stanthorpe Art Prize 08 is a major biennial art prize displaying contemporary and traditional artforms from across Australia. The opening weekend (29 February to 2 March) is being held in association with the Stanthorpe Fringe Arts Festival and the biennial Apple and Grape Festival.

The Calleen Collection is comprised of works of art acquired since 1977 and covers a wide range of styles from traditional to contemporary, and includes paintings, prints, ceramics and glass. Each year scores of works are entered in The Cowra Festival Art Awards, with the winner selected for the Calleen Acquisition Award.
15 June - 1 July 2007 2007 Townsville Ceramic Awards
The Townsville Ceramic Competition is organized by the North Queensland Potters' Association Inc. with the intent to increase public exposure to a high standard of pottery from around Australia. The exhibition attracts nationally renown artists and provides a showcase for emerging ceramic artists.
4 July - 4 August 2007 Tracelines
Cooper Gallery, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, University of Dundee, Scotland
Tracelines was developed for and will be shown as part of the New Craft Future Voices International Craft Conference during July in Dundee. The exhibition explores strategies in negotiating concepts of place and belonging and presents the work of four Canberra-based ceramic artists - Anita McIntyre, Maiju Altpere-Woodhead, Anna Gianais and Avi Amesbury.
All the artists have migrant origins ranging from several generations of Australian-born ancestry to relatively recent Eastern-block experience. Drawing from their diverse backgrounds they explore the reciprocal relationships between recollection and new environment; nostalgia and inherited memories; experience, memory and landscape; and observation memory and presence.
20 July - 19 August 2007 30th Alice Craft Acquisition
Alice Springs Cultural Precinct, Alice Springs, Northern Territory
Hosted by Territory Craft - Alice Springs, this exhibition began acquiring contemporary craft in 1975, resulting in a stunning collection of 29 years of craft history in Australia. The bi-annual exhibition and the collection of acquired works enable Territorians and visitors to see work of national significance in a remote environment.

The exhibition - Convergence: A north/south discourse - has been selected as part of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) 41st Annual Conference - Old Currents/New Blends: A distillation of art and geography. The artists in Convergence come from diverse cultural backgrounds and through personal experiences, motivations and expectations, bring a unique hybridity to this exhibition. Artists exhibiting are Carole Hanson, Lia Tacjnar, Avi Amesbury, Maiju Altpere-Woodhead, Sarah Rice, Anna Gianakis, Mel Robson and Emilka Radlinska.

A survey of eight artists selected from New South Wales and ACT who work in porcelain, with guest exhibitor from the UK, Sasha Wardell. Artists exhibiting are Nicole Lister, Avi Amesury, Sandy Lockwood, Ivan Gluch, Maiju Altpere, Louise Boscacci, Bronwyn Kemp,Tania Rolland and Sasha Wardell.

Crust is a Gold Coast City Art Gallery traveling exhibition of international contemporary ceramics, curated by Stephen Baxter from the gallery's permanent collection.
The Gold Coast City Art Gallery has an extensive ceramic collection of some 177 works, acquired mainly through the Gold Coast International Ceramic Art Award, an award running since 1982. This exhibition is a selection of 36 works from the collection, and will display the strength of one of the most significant collections of ceramics in regional Australia. The exhibition explores the plethora of approaches ceramic artists use when considering the finished surface of their objects.
The exhibition will be on tour nationally from April 2006.
